Counselling Psychologist
Zahra is a UK-trained Counsellor with over 10 years’ experience working within the mental and social care field in the UK, and an additional 4 years’ experience working in the educational field in the UAE. She is licensed by the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai, the British Association of Counselling Psychologists (BACP) in the UK.
Zahra is a highly experienced and compassionate professional who works in an integrative manner where her focus is meeting the client where they are and creating Individualizing treatment plans specific to their needs and therapy goals. She has worked with teenagers and adults throughout the lifespan and offers both individual and group therapy or skill-based training sessions. She values creating a safe and comfortable environment for each client to connect with the different parts of themselves, to develop a sense of deeper understanding, self-compassion, and inner peace.
Having lived and worked in different parts of the world; including East Africa and the UK, Zahra believes her vast experience has helped shape how she works with her clients and allows her to be more multicultural/multidimensional, in that she is more mindful of various cultural, ethical or social issues that influence how we function. Her aim is to see the client in their entirety and to further support them through their journey drawing on all aspects of their world!
Zahra continues to improve her practice through research and ongoing professional development to ensure best practices in providing evidence-based therapy that is proven to be effective. Zahra prides herself on being compassionate, warm, and approachable.
